Why does not people break the dowry system.?

If we break the dowry system, we will be in Jail. All bride / bridegroom need something for new life / new home. Without home / new items they will be jail. All want something to start new life. My son want money to start business or to buy 2 wheeler. It is dowry.

Because politicians are not making a hue and cry of it. That is why.

There r many people not bothering about this.

Some people are working very hard .Some NGO's are also trying their best.Now that media is also very active let's hope that this ill will ends soon.But to my my mind ,the war against dowry has to be taken up by girls .They should also have the confidence that whole of society is with them.

many men actually dont think of dowry.its the parents and the dowry is so deep into our culture.but things are changing.
it depends on the person,some men are money-minded.

do not agree with u on that. people are trying their best to break away from the dowry system in India. but u have to understand that a major part of India comprises of rural people who still are clinging to the norms of the past. as soon as education reaches the whole country we shall see changes. already there are many who are protesting against the dowry system. one hears of girls refusing to marry boys who ask for dowry. give it some more time, India will surely rise to a great tomorrow soon.

Dowry was meant to help the newly weds to start their new life. Every parent wants to help their children to live as comfortably as possible. But if the groom demands something in dowry ,then it is bad. Today it has become a big menace as in the name of dowry, boys parents demand dowry and if it is not paid, the bride burning instances take place.It is also said that the boys are helpless and dowry is demanded by their parents. This is ridiculous because if the boys put their feet down, their parents can not force them to accept dowry. I know many young boys who did not ask for any dowry and they are living happy married life.

i think,by doing this people think that it's a risky thing to do,and if they do so their daughters or their family will be insecure.

the thing is, we are so different from animals.they are better if u ask me.take away a dog's bone,it will eat something else. humans ar afraid of change although this is one of the most constant things in life.the dowry system has worked for a very long time and well the idea of marriage without it is ludicrous....seemingly.so theres ur answer dude.thats what i think is the problem.

cuz still many people want to live in the age old system n dont wana come out of it...plus...there r many people who r hungry for money and thier hunger doesnt never ends.
