Why does the Turks call the Armenian Genocide " the lies of the Armenians" ?

Because they already have enough enemies. To call it the lies of the Greek, the French, etc and the Armenian, they will have the whole world against them, so it is better to prey on the Armenians who are much smaller in number.

Perhaps what's most admirable about the Turks is their ability to lie to themselves and then believe their own lies. Don't worry. The whole world has known them for what they are whether or not they recognize the genocide.

You are right. (No no, don't start celebrating just yet.) We should have called it "the lies of Armenians AND Frenchmen AND Danish AND Belgians (is there still such a nation?) AND Nancy Pelosi". Didn't think we would forget HER, did you? :DDD

Do you ever get the feeling that the Turks don't care about the world recognition of the Armenian genocide its all about the Turks still wanting to hurt the Armenians.

First off all calling them turks is offensive. It is equivalent to calling someone barbaric... it also has negative religious connotations throughout history.

Secondly- every one is biased, that is why there is a controvery. The Armenians think they were victims of a genocide... the Turkish public doesn't think it was a genocide... you can default on beleiving the Armenians without some valid proof or reasoning...

3rd- I am american, and I live in Istanbul. When I read MSN articles and see pictures of riots over this I want to laugh my butt off- the only riots that happen here are over football matches- these photos of protests in Istanbul streets *on MSN* are not real as pictured. I never knew how skewed american media was until i moved out of the country...

TI'm not sure why they call it that...though I can hazard a guess. They seem to be very um ...how s hall we say..vocal about the issue. they also seem to see Armenians everywhere and label people who are not as such. A rather interesting phenomenon. Though I will say I just checked out some pictures of the shopping areas in Istanbul and they look so good and full of beautiful and juicy high priced shops. Omg I would love to go and visit. But I'm kinda afraid I will get embroiled in a PKK homicide bombing assault?

Edit : Ohh.. You think so... I do not since the whole world was deceived by Bush, and who has the courage to say " he is the smartest guy ever. "?

Edit : Turkish authorities were against the war in the first place as Turkish Parliment refused to allow US forces to use Turkish territory in Iraq war. Now, even the majority of Americans think it was a wrong decision, so Bush has lost the support, once he had.

Armenians killed hunreds of thousands Turks in Turkey during WW1...
Greeks killed tens of thousands Turk when they occupied Anotolia..

It is a genocide, because the killing of Armenians was deliberate, it wasn't just a huge massacre of the Armenian people during a war, for what kind of war are we talking about?
The idea of exterminating the minorities in Turkey was given to Ataturk by the Germans, do you think it is also accidental? Why all this European governments would tell lies for Turkish government of 1900-1922?

Genocide against Greek's pfff what next genocide againjst aliens?There has been no genocide you should open your archives,but you aren't....are you afraid that your lie will bust out?Or are you changing your archieves so that it contains lies too?Ä°t was a war and Armenians were fighting against the Turks with Russians.....they have been deaths from the Turkish side too and let me get this straight if the world thinks it is (without any proff or opened archieves of armenians) that doesn't prove anything , everything is not the same as it seems..I can lie and say that my hair is pink and always wear a hat to not show that it's black just like the Armenians do with their lie..........Armenians are still burning some facts that prooves that there was no genocide and don't try to break Turkish and Greek relationship.
