Where did you get your geography book? I saw a sunset in Norway. Only you go far enough north in the summer you will see the sun go down a little and rise again. Because the Earth is round and Norway is close to the top. In the winter on the other hand it won't rise at all in the same location. That's because the sun is shining on the southern hemisphere.

You may want to rephrase your question. If Norway has any sun at all it has to have a sunset. Norway is so far north that in winter they don't get a lot of sunlight, but if it goes up, it must come down.

someone slept well during geography lessons!!!!!!!!!!!!

because the sun god hates them
ANF
Because in summer the sun is always over the Norwegian horizon so it never sets. Setting is only when the sun goes below the horizon. In the winter the sun is below the horizon for most of the day so it stays dark for a long time.

Sorry guys, your´e quite wrong. There is no sunset in Norway only during a couple of days in the midsummer. It has to be said that the summer nights are almost as light as during daytime, but the sun sure sets for a couple of hours. Many tourists can´t sleep during summer nights. This goes for the other Scandinavian countries too, as the countries are so far up in the north. If you don´t know where Scandinavia is, I suggest you look at a map of northern Europe! Welcome to Scandinavia and experience the midsummer with no sunsets,it´s just great!!!
