Why india is not a favorite travel destination for foreigners ?

I would not say it's not a favourite travel detination for foreigners. Inida has their share of visitors compare to other Asian countries.

India may not get the number of tourists they want for the reason, I would say, OVER EXPOSURE.

Like say in the case of China. Virtually almost all countries have CHINATOWN. Why visit China when I can see the same thing in Chinatown nearby?

Most countries I have visited have "LITTLE INDIA"s. It's quite amazing how they adapted a new country but still retain their culture and traditions and in some degree, their way of life and identity.

I think that is the same case. But still, India gets millions of visitors every year. Not bad. Not bad at all.

what the hell make u to say this publically.I'm Indian and i think my country has noting lacks in it that makes it inferior to others countries...

why not.? india is best for traveling and site seeing. alldefference in depending on places cultures and climate . visit kashmir to kerala . kashmire had ever snow field and kerala evergreen

This is just my personal opinion: I always have this impression of a country where people bathe in the same river (the Ganges and the Indus) where they also cremate their dead and take a poop in--upstream. Another image is a man making pancakes to sell on a dirty alley floor mere inches [below] from his own unwashed feet. Ever wonder why hepatitis is so rampant there? Cool culture but the blatant hygienic deficiencies really do disturb me enough to not want to go there. Just my opinion.

India is (in the case of Americans, for example) a far away country. Locations that advertise get the most tourism and Mexico, Hawaii, The Carribean, etc. do a lot of advertising. I've personally never seen promotion for india. They might not have a prominent tourist industry.

(2)transportation coindition is not clean and not sufficient
(3)required facilities are not provoded foir their use
(4)language problem
(5)etc..............
