russia defending anything? What a joke. russia is the most amoral country the world has ever seen. They have no loyalties to anything but their own greed. russia's excursion into Georgia was a streetcorner mugging where the cops weren't going to do anything.

And if the U-S is so big, bad, and evil, why are the russians trying so hard to copy her? Why would her citizens do anything to get the coveted Green Card?

I could be wrong as I'm not keen on politics, but I believe Georgia was becoming part of NATO? so pretty much allies with the western world? Anywho I believe some other countries around russia were in a similar boat so when Russia starts shi t with georgia or ossetia it influences other countries.

I'm probably wrong though haha

America is not mad at Russia. France, along with the EU and USA just had to step in and Slap Putin silly for being so arrogant to think he can just invade anyone he wants without a good reason. So, Putin may have hurt Georgia but he hurt Russia's future much more. As long as Putin is in charge, Russia will never be trusted. Russia planned this attack in April down to the minute. Russia can kiss goodbye its entry into the world trade organization, and probably will be removed from the G-8 sometime after McCain is elected. God forbid he wins, but it doesn't look good for Obama. All USA needs is one decent man to run for president and we can't find one anywhere? Sad state of affairs.

u.s. has , you guessed it , oil ties with Georgia. everybody knows G is in the wrong, and bush is so stupid, he wants to let russia know the U.S. is still the Big army. and mess up all those years the Reagan admin. put in to keep the peace.

You ask a good question.

America currently lacks the moral authority to be angry at Russia. The Bush administration invaded and occupied Iraq - contrary to world opinion. That occupation still continues.

Likewise, the Bush administration allowed Israel to run rampant in its attack against Lebanon and said nothing - when it had the muscle to stop that situation immediately. It did nothing and consequently thousands of innocent Lebanese died and Israel lost tremendous respect and is now viewed as nothing but a lying bully.

America, and especially the Bush administration, have no right to involve themselves.

And because of its actions, Russia has also lost the moral authority to say it should act as a "peacekeeper" in that region of the world. It should pack up and leave and allow the U.N. or E.U. to take over the matter. The days of the "Soviet Empire" are long gone and no one will tolerate such interference.

Because Russia has come from the point of complete poverty after the collapse of the soviet union ( which the US had a part in ) to a world soon to be super power in the matter of 18 years. Russia maintains very close bonds with Greece, Serbia, China, Iran, Belarus and Israel even through times of war. The US are jealous that the Russians have come so far and pulled through all obstacles put infront of them .
