Make sure to double check your figures. They tend to be faulty. A few thousand? Unlikely, maybe more.
Take this as an example, from what I last heard is that during the "supposed" genocide they said 1.5 million Armenians were killed when the total population was just over a million as YOU said. If they got it wrong before, they sure could have gotten it wrong now.
Prejudice tends to add and subtract in the wrong places I guess.
Go figure. |

Who says there is not?
They are in France,USA,Canada, everywhere...
In fact maybe it is better to ask this question Armenia section i'm sure that they will be giving you a better answer. Question: Why did you choose Turkey section to ask this question? |

I can explain 9 of those people. My nany's 2 daughters, their husbands and the kids moved to Canada 10 years ago.
Also I have other Atmenian friends in Turkiye and all their uncles, aunties, brothers, sisters either in Canada or US. |

Armenians lived in Ottoman Empire.Their population was one million as you said.Where do you think Armenians live in France, the USA,Lebanon,Iran,Armenia,etc... came from? The answer is Ottoman Empire. That's why there are a few thousands Armenians live in Turkey.
However, their population is between 40.000-70.000 because they are coming here as clandestine workers. |

I am in there. 100 years ago Turkey had only 1000000 people . Where were the turks, jews and greeks? Maybe they ran away from the armenians. :))))))))))))))))))))))))) |

Yes , I can explain with this sentences.
--------
../..
It was soon discovered that all were nothing but wiles and traps.Turks who were taken into this police force started abandoning theirplaces immediately. Because, the Turkish night patrols started to disappear all of a sudden and nothing was heard of them ever. Even the Turks who were taken out of the city to work were not coming back. The members of the Martial Courts established did not try or punish any of the criminals as they feared to be sentenced to capital
punishment.
The number of the massacres and pillaging started to increase steeply. One night, at the end of January according to old calendar in other words at t the beginning of February; Armenian gangs murdered Haci Bekir Effendi, one of the most prominent people in Erzurum, at his home. The Commander-in-Chief Odichelitzé(1) ordered
the unit commanders the finding of the murderer within 3 days.
The Commander-in-Chief talked at the commanders of the Armenian units condemning them, in its most general terms, about the disgraceful deeds of their troops. He also said that he was extremely offended by the pillaging and the brutal force exerted on the people.
(1) Georgian origin Commander of the Russian Caucasian Army.
He voiced his anger about the Turkish people, who were taken out from their homes under the pretext of having them work on the roads, most of whom were somehow kept from returning. He reiterated his ideas saying if the Armenians are really the owners of the occupied Armenian territory, they ought to display their honesty and the level of their moral values as a nation, thinking of the honor of the Armenian nation; and that they ought to act within frame work
of the law; and do everything possible to curb all the barbarousness and brutality committed by the mob. He pointed out that the intellectuals were obliged to do it. Moreover, he said, at a time when the handing of the occupied region over to the Armenians was not
yet decided at a peace conference, and at a time when the First World War had not come to an end, the Armenians ought to obey the rules of the law much more carefully.
The Armenian commanders of the Armenian units, and the
representatives of the troops declared that it was not appropriate to libel the name of the Armenian nation by just equating them with a couple of murderous gang members; that some of the deserters might have wanted to take revenge on the past deeds of the Turks;
that the Armenian intellectuals were doing their best to curb those events; and finally that they were thinking of taking decisive measures and implement those measures.

It's quite simple....
They moved to much better places. Why would anyone want to live with a bunch of liars? However, not all of them are liars...they have a certain amount of brave people in them which recognize the truth of the ARMENIAN GENOCIDE...and those people have my uttermost respect.

Why don't you ask them why they left? Nobody harmed them. I think they felt uncomfortable after what Asala did to Turkish diplomats. Probably they felt guilty. |

Yeah odd that ,I cant answer that question, Although a similar thing seems to have happened in Armenia it self "The Mother land" Independence from the break up of the Soviet union has resulted in mass immigration and according to Armenian records 60% of 8 million Armenians live outside of thier homeland.
Something must be wrong there in this so called perfect utopia , How many of you Armenians that Rant on Yahoo actualy live in Armenia ? Seems strange that you should be so uptight and critical of others when your not even supporting your own country buy working and paying taxes there.
Thats just one of the reasons why you make me laugh. |

Well,i was reading a book about Ottoman Empire.

Does the Hamidian Massacres give you any clue?? Does the Armenian Genocide gives you any clue??
If it does not answer you question, maybe it was magic that many people just died, and whoever was left alive ran to neighboring countries like Iran, Georgia, Russia, Greece, Iraq, Syria, Lebonon, and finally USA, France, Australia, Germany and so on. Oh yea, Armenians were so nice that they even left their historical homeland of 2500 years to Turks to enjoy, since they were going to be out of country. Wherever you go in the world you will find an Armenian.
EDIT: Check out this link. |
|

Qu'est ce que tu pense?
 |
There are a few still living in Turkey, but most of them left after the "supposed" genocide that took place. There is also no reason for them to stay in Turkey since they have their own country, which is called Armenia. |

There are no Armenians in Turkey because during World War I the Turks rounded up all the Armenians and killed them. It is one of the least known acts of genocide in the last century. |

Most who survived the massacres at the hands of the Turks at the beginning of the last century fled to neighbouring countries .There are pockets of Armenian people scattered throughout the region to this day ....still proud of their origins, faithful to their beliefs & proud to call themselves Armenian!
If you wish to find out just how brutally they suffered at the hands of the Turks , try to get a copy of " The Auction of Souls " by Aurora Mardiginian. It will give you a perspective that the world chose to ignore ! |
