Baris Awareness

Why not a Yellow Ribbon Turkey instead of black one?

The Yellow Ribbon Campaign has been organized to shatter the silence surrounding the Armenian Genocide.

The color yellow signifies hope for the future. With this campaign we appeal to the world, to end such insensitive policies and silence towards the pain of an entire nation.

In this regard, I would like to remember the poignant words spoken by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. "In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends…a time comes when silence is betrayal."

Ipek, its encouraging to know your reading.

They may be hope for you yet.

You have a good weekend now...

Ah I want to puke....please do, maybe you will excrete all the hate that consumes you. Maybe we will get lucky and you'll drown in your own hate. Your decrepit racialist views are disgusting anyway. Trust me you won't be missed.

BTW/Americans display a yellow ribbon to honor and support the troops in Iraq, but some of you all ready knew that.

I am so disgusted with these self righteous, egotistical fanatics around here...they just burp out anything to get negative attention. Its just totally out of the question to ever get a intelligent response out of them.

These people are incapable of common decency.

edit: Let them continue to wear the color black as their symbol, its a perfect color for them.

Baby I will wear any color ribbon you want me to!
As long as I don't have to tie it around my forehead.

Yellow Ribbon Campaign was put into motion following what is widely regarded as the Bush Administration's retribution against Ambassador Evans for publicly labeling the events in Ottoman Turkey at the beginning of the 20th century as "genocide".

The Yellow Ribbon represents protest against the Genocide denial.

Yellow Ribbon Campaign to Protest Genocide Denial!

In Iraq, yellow means the kurdish parties.

Oh very nice dear.

A black ribbon is

What is Turkey mourning
now? I also heard it
supports victims of
narcissism.

PPS: Are you protesting each other?!

Dear Alana,

Martin Luther King also said,

"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."

You have a good weekend now...

Mr. Bobo
It is from a song it has nothing to do with the so called genocide. It is from the following song. You might as well say that every time you hear a car horn in Istanbul it is supporting the Armenian fairy tail.

Martin Luther King also said,
"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."

The question you should ask is are the Armenian story tellers capable of a single original thought?

"Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree"

(As recorded by Tony Orlando & Dawn)
IRWIN LEVINE
L. RUSSELL BROWN

I'm comin' home I've done my time
Now I've got to know what is and isn't mine
If you received my letter tellin' you I'd soon be free
Then you'll know just what to do if you still want me
If you still want me.

Woah tie a yellow ribbon round the ole oak tree
It's been three long years, do ya still want me
If I don't see a ribbon round the ole oak tree
I'll stay on the bus, forget about us
Put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon round the ole oak tree

Bus driver please look for me
'Cause I couldn't bear to see what I might see
I'm really still in prison and my love she holds the key
A simple yellow ribbon's what I need to set me free
I wrote and told her, please

Woah tie a yellow ribbon round the ole oak tree
It's been three long years do ya still want me
If I don't see a ribbon round the ole oak tree
I'll stay on the bus, forget about us
Put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon round the ole oak tree

Now the whole damn bus is cheering
And I can't believe I see
A hundred yellow ribbons round the ole oak tree

I'm comin home, mmm hmm

Tie a ribbon round the ole oak tree
Tie a ribbon round the ole oak tree
Tie a ribbon round the ole oak tree

Tie a ribbon round the ole oak tree
Tie a ribbon round the ole oak tree
Tie a ribbon round the ole oak tree

Martin Luther King, Jr. said,
"Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love."
Alana, try spreading some love instead of hate!

I agree to some extent. In some cultures especially in the US, the color yellow signifies cowardice. They say if someone is yellow it means they are cowards. I think everyone's heard of the term - "yellow-bellied" something. Yellow in journalism also means irresponsible reporting.

It's applicable I think.

I hate the color yellow but I agree with you. Yes, let's shatter the silence surrounding the allegations. Let eveyone concerned come to an academic round table and show what evidence they have got. Turkish academia are ready (as they have offered to do so at various occassions) to open up all archives.
The point is that if and when all the archives are put to light, your western allies will be caught red-handed. Because we have evidence who and how armed your grandfathers and supported them with their money so they could stab Turks in the back. The real murderers of innocent Turkish civilians will be revealed.
That is why they are keeping so quiet. You will also find out who tricked you into killing your thousand year old friends.

Ah I will puke now. You continuously allude to other events -which has nothing to do with the so called genocide- and pathetically draw parallels between them in order to attract popular support. What are you a cheer leader? You armenians are the LAST to quote Martin Luther King, wash your mouth before you speak of people like him.

Check user whitearmenia's profile and this videp. It is ironic really considering the fact that armenians aren't white and are not native Caucasians.

As far as I know, the Yellow Ribbon does NOT stand for the Armenian Genocide. The Yellow Ribbon is a symbol of the people who are fighting in the Iraq war, for people who have cancer, and it also symbolizes the death by teen suicides. Nowhere in my life have I heard about it symbolizing the genocide :-D What's next, you're going to make a ribbon for clouds are in the sky remembrance?
