Why people in Greece were celebrating on 9/11 ?

Is it related with the fact that Greece openly supports Hamas, Baath and Al-Quaida on every occasion ?
Additional Details
Please, Greek Secret Service agents like agrafa, do not threaten me. I don't take threats.

Because Greeks hate American people. They look some connection with US support to the colonel Papadopoulos's junta, but they can not remember to the enormous US material, military, political, cultural etc. support to poor after-war Greece, which lasted with decades.

Greek IT Guy
I don't know if they were celebrating, but Greeks are somewhat anti-American (USA citizens). This is the feeling i got when i visited the country in 06.

I'm a Greek American and can speak the language fairly well.

During the 60's and 70's it was popular opinion in Greece that the CCCP would crush the US in a war... this is what the majority of Greeks believed. Perhaps this belief is resident in today's society. This is why they desire socialism (one step closer to communism) vice a free democratic government - even though the roots of democracy originated from the great ancient Greek people.

note: I am by no means a political expert.

Frankly, you are misinformed. ..."the fact that Greece supports.." is patently untrue, hence not a fact but fiction.
Perhaps you are not getting your information from reliable sources. I would suggest and greatly encourage you to diversify your source of information.

My compadre's wife (best man's wife) is a hard-core communist.
Even she was not celebrating that day.
Nor my best man (who is also a not-so-hard-up communist).

I assume that apart from the following people who were probably celebrating behind closed doors, in their offices, afraid to go out and yell their likeness of the events, in fear of being lynched by the American sympathetic Greeks.

Celebrators list :

- General secretary of the KKE (Greek Communist Party)
- Board members of KKE.
- Some of the Palestinians residing in Greece.
- My dog (who was seeing me walking around the apartment nervously while the events were live on TV and grabbed his ball thinking I was in a playful mood).
- Stray cats in the neighborhood (since I was feeling so nervous that day that I emptied several cat food cans in one act...)

Antiamericanism in Greece is a long story. It is targeted against US governments, not the general public.

You sound though as a person who likes to dig into things.
Perhaps you can help me dig into some childhood issues I have?
(You wont find any celebrations there either though...)

Excuse me but we were not celebrating on 9/11...!

Actually, newspapers and media, in general, discussed again the event..
Who told you that Greece openly supports them?

Mind what you say....

Elaine
You know very well that they weren't. Where is your proof? I'm still waiting for it... Why do you hesitate to post it? :)

The event you mention simply never took place.
If you don't add details for a link soon then you are a common liar.

Also, I hope you have the guts to answer the following:
what is your nationality?
what is your problem with Greece?
do you live in Greece? if "yes": how can you stand living in a so awful (as you describe) country?
