Why the reports and violations are falling like the rain on the greek users?

jealousy ,inferiority ,,envy,,unable to play and enjoy knowledge in a fair way..especially when u get violated for saying even hello><< yahoo is self strangulating itself ,they made the report button so obvious so u just press it ,,come on,,,its obscene,,not all users r level dear friend

I was sad to get my answer on christina's (cpinatsi) last question reported, it was in greek though.

I can't complaine because most of my answers that are getting reporter are in greek language and that's agaist the rules. The rules are also against chatting and any kind of use of the yahoo answers that's not for a real question or a straight answer. I understand how disapointed and angry someone can be if he gives a good answer and get reported. I can't say that it happent to me.

It took for me a while to figure out how the yahoo answers is working when it comes to reports. It might help the fact that I have basic knowlege of programing and web developing. One thing I can tell you for sure, yahoo answers as a site has nothing to do with any kind of discrimination.

Don't get this wrong, I'm talking about the site not the people who report. I have a theory about how is everything working and it's proven to be right for more than a year now.

Almost all frequent users know, I got a violation report for a question about Pavarotti, apart from the other reports for various answers of mine.
Whenever I post an answer, I get thumbs down before the elapse of one minute (while for instance I'm modifying a word of my answer, which takes less than one minute).
Surprisingly I get thumbs down in the Greek and the Turkish Sections, where the one hiding behind the reports understands the language and follows me, and no thumbs down in the Italian Section, as he does not know Italian and he cannot trace me in the various sections of Yahoo-Italia.
Come on, most of us do understand what is happening and who is behind this.

I made my Q&A private yesterday, and I like what I see: no thumbs down (yet) and no reports.
I know that can't stop trolls who always find their way but at least it will minimize problem.
And my advice to all:
After receiving numerous violations on god knows what, I decided to listen to friendly advice.

I asked them to explain what community guidelines exactly I violated (the guy had racist theory about serbian IQ, after I replied he reported me and they removed my answer, while his remained and still is there, but at least they returned mine as well).

I just wonder what will Yahoo do with people who report others
without any reason. Sholudn't THEY be punished somehow?

I received also a violation report. My question was about a Grrek singer who is allegedly running for political office. I didn't know if her video was for real or a joke. The nature of the video was so silly and so outlandish that I could not believe she was a serious candidate. So I asked in the GREECE section the opinions of the users there. For someone to "report" that question, I feel there is certainly some kind of vendetta . . . . .

Because the Greek section for some time now has been a place for Albanians, Skopjans, etc. to make political quarrel and propaganda, instead of the original purpose of the site which is to seek info on Greek culture and tourism. Of course tehy have not be left unanswered, and now they feel they are doing something by reporting us and putting thumbs down, like we care! However, their brain doesn't reach beyond that point, and their hatred is such that they try to find any way to harm us, and this is the only thing they can do on Y!A, so they do it!

Because we have already said it...It doesnt concern always the nationality, but it is private.
This was happening also in the past.I can assure you that we had fights with the FYROMIANS, abanians, turks, but i am sure they are not the problem, because we never got so many violations as now.
And it s ok here...But also in other sections where greeks participate?And specific greeks who never provocked?
We always had disagreements on political or national topics with other people..
They were not reporting so much, unless there were hard words..
But now it is different, it is frequent and against specific users(especially old ones)..
Needless to speak about the thumbs down...
Isnt it time to search somewhere else?I dont know where...but let s see all the cases...It is really sad to want to show to the others in a site of entertainmeent that we are something, and to express our hatred by this way..We are not rivals for a virtual glory..

It is incredible same problem we also have in Turkey section.
And the worst thing is that these people insult,provocate nothing happens to them but we talk about an artist who passed away or fires our questions and answers are deleted in 2 seconds. The ones who report us must have a lot of power because when we report nothing happens. Look yesterday someone who is joking about sexual choices of people has still his question in the section. He is always there he came to your section ,too. His account is not suspended.

To be honest, I haven't received a report and violation for a long time. In fact, the only thing that has ever happened to me is to have 2 questions removed (posted on P&S) as according to Yahoo they were against the guidelines.

Still, I believe that everyone has the right to express his opinion freely. We have thumbs up & down to express agreement or disapproval, and that is fair enough.

Apart from that though, reporting people out of nothing and creating personal vendettas is stupid.

Yesterday I got a violation notice on such a naive question, I just could not believe it!!!!
I do not participate in Greek section because I don't know much about politics and I am not interested in some way. I only participate in P&S and yet, I find very ofter thumbs down to my simplest answers.
I believe, this is so just because I am Greek. I cannot think of anything else. It is just for no reason at all.

it's the same in Turkey section.i think some people are waiting for people to report answers,the innocent answers!
And unfortunatelly Y! corporation is not fair i think.There are lots of fake accounts and trolls,we do report them but nothing happens but when we ask a Q or A they delete ours!

one for commenting on a car and one for commenting on a dead opera singer! you tell me!

but that just shows you the inferiority complex these ppl have! they have nothing intelligent to say so they result to this crap! I think it is Fyrom,Greeks and Turks as well! as with all things in life this is a generalization as not all of them are bad ,but i think there is a fair amount out there!

I am new to YA so have not had the experience so far.I can only assume that some racists have a vendetta against Greeks and as we are above this level we should treat them with the contempt they deserve and ignore them!

Well to tell you the truth I haven't got reported yet(I feel kinda neglected,lol) but I do get a lot of thumbs down so maybe there is hope for me in the future,lmao!!!
OK,on a more serious note,I do think it's personal vendetta,some users get reported all the time and for questions/answers that are good and aren't insulting anyone...I don't know,I don't think there is something anyone can do,I mean you have bad people everywhere and that is the best and worse future of an on line community:Being anonymous.Everyone can say and do whatever he/she wants cause there is no one that knows who he/she is personally...i don't know,maybe there are people who use Yahoo answers and report people just because they are weak in real life and can't stand up for themselves so they do it here to feel better about themselves??I don't know,the only thing we can do is keep answering,keep expressing our opinions and ignore those people who have nothing better to do...

I got a report for using some italian words (verses from opera) in my answer about Pavarotti.
The person who reported me (and the questioner) was not among the ones who answered.

Cause we just don't know how to pause interesting questions, since we simply know more that other people or give diplomatic answers, since we are always surprised that we know more that other people. They're just jealous!
