Turkey is a great holiday destination, my girlfriend and mother in law go every year and have a fantastic time. It's cheap and the people are very friendly and family orientated. They are not culture vultures and tend to do the tourist things but they have never had a bad experience, not once in ten years. You could not say that about a lot of other countries.

hey Wladek my friend, my advice to you would be go for it - you'll love it. The Turkish people are lovely. I wish I had the money to go over more than once a year

Ipek K
Yes of course?

What is the doubt for?

Totally Blunt
If you are Polish like Earthling said, I can assure you that they come and enjoy themselves quite nicely. I meet a Polish lady every year at the exact same spot in Marmaris. Talk about the force of habit. :)

You would be welcome with or without your Özbek (that's the word in Turkish) ancestors. As a matter of fact, if you don't do anything extremely extraordinary, nobody will recognize you among the 12+ million tourists that visit Turkey every year.

Ipek K is right

Yes, you'll be very welcome. And I think you're Polish. All the Polish people I've met so far were very nice, helpful and sympathetic. All of my Turkish friends and I were very welcome in Poland. I like your people so much! I hope you leave Turkey with the same feelings :D

Heidi W
It's Turkish people to be correct. Where are you from, then? I couldn't see any real problems - my husband's Turkish, and he was made to feel welcome in Greece.
