Just by reading your question, you show how much people in your country consider Russia with so much ignorance -

When have you ever heard that the Tzar was elected ? - he was exactly like all monarchs, the supreme rukovoditiel of his country just because of heredity - and precisely because of heredity there was no chance for subjects to give him a go -
and in time of crisis, which for long in 1917 was predictable, people at any price stay on their throne, the only thing possible is to kill them - history unfortunately shows this as something very ordinary - historians call it "regicide".

Just please a last word - you speak about bloodshed - you probably think of Ekaterinburg - and you say "bastards" thinking probably about the revolutionaries who killed the imperial family - your reaction is understandable - really - but then if now I tell you that the Tzar family Nikolai vtoroi was facing the eastern side of WW I , deeply incompetent, precisely because of their heredty had no skill for miltary things, will you accept to consider that they were responsible
for the waste ot hundred thousands casualties, and in that sense will you understand that at least Nikolai II , at least him, deserved to be executed - as a real not-bastard - but cretin

Now Putin !!! If I tell you december 2nd what do you reply ? nothing - do you know that Putin, being limited up to two mandates, is going to leave ? Somebody else will be elected - 67% of russians want a candidate from "Edinaia Rossia" -

But let's imagine that hte dates are not so near - Puttin being ELECTED, and limited to two mandates, WILL NEVER BE ANY KIND OF TZAR - this is the only answer which sticks to your question - anything else is trifle, hate, prejudice or naivety - But nobody is perfect

If I were you I would be worrying about George Bush, the guy can't even read for God's sake!

As to Putin - no, he WILL NOT be the "next Czar", because he IS THE CURRENT PRESIDENT

Lol :) No, I don't think so. First, I believe Putin doesn't have an intention of becoming a tzar. Not very fashionable today. ;)
Second, t is beyond belief, that the Russian nation will allow this. We have a rather rich experience of monarchy to start it again. Its not wise to try to come back to the past. And most of the population doesn't support the monarchy as theway of ruling.
P.S. I know that this gonna sound a bit cruel, but the last tzar and nobility somehow deserved with their ignorance wahat they got.

Even though the Russian people were upset by the dissolution of the Soviet Union (as told to me by my Russian grandparents) I don't believe they would ever "allow" for that to happen again.

No. We did away with that stupid practice in 1917, which is more than I can say for certain other "advanced" countries.

I don't feel bad for the last tsar. They did what they had to do at that time.
