I live in Greece so I would say to you yes. It's wierd, sometimes a week can pass without nothing and then I will get bugged all day. But the mozzie bites here seem to hurt more than in other countries! And I have also seen people get allergic reactions.
But dont freak out too much, you may not have a problem at all. There isnt a plague of them over here or something.
Bring the spray, it wont take up too much room in your luggage. And its better to be safe than sorry! Enjoy your holiday! :)
p.s please drink lots of water. So many tourists just drink alcohol all day and sit in the sun all day and if they are 'thirsty' they drink coke! Which is a dieretic and dehydrates you as much as alcohol here. I see so many ready to pass out. Drink water and have fun!
good luck :) |

Where in Greece?
I love Greece, and have spent many a summer there, and gave not a thought to mosquitoes, and never got bitten by any.
Perhaps they don't care for Sith, however.
Enjoy your trip

Definitely, especially when you go out in the evenings - wear your anti-mozzy if nothing else!!!
It's also worth investing in one of those plug in thingies with tablets to keep your room mozzy free. (You can buy them at the airport or most mini-markets in Greece) |

Yes, you will need it!!! Not everyone gets bitten, but there are loads of mozzies. I Live in Greece, I tend to get bitten at night, my advice is to either wear long trousers or spray your ankles with repellent before you go out, they LOVE ankles!!!! get a plug for your room, one of the liquid ones, they really do work. Don't leave your windows open when you go out, you will have the blighters buzzing round your ears all night!!! |

If you want to take some in case you go to the country side then that's great. But be sure that if you are in the city or at the beach you'll have no trouble with mosquitoes. What you really have to worry about is buying lots of light clothes since it will be hot as hell by August - It is already very, VERY hot in Greece!
I would recommend that instead you take that anti mozzy spray, get loads of sunscreen! Believe me, even if you wear SPF70 to the beach... you'll burn! So be sure to take a lot so you burn the least. |

absolutely yes...i had to have injections & tablets as i was bitten very badly on my wrist...i went to Kos. Greece.
one tip...also take an english fly spray with you to spray your room before you go out...that really is more effective than the stuff you get out there....saying all of that - i still LOVE greece!! |

If anti-mozzy means anti-mosquito, then yes, definitely you need one. Not that the situation is ao bad, you are not going to a tropical rain forst or sth., but there are some mosquitos around. Don't worry though, even if you don't bring your spray along with you, you can find all sorts of anti-mosquito sprays and creams in Greece in a pharmacy. |
