Serbia will remain united and radical muslim extremism will be quashed in Kosovo. Kosovo should not be used as a launching pad for radical terrorists planning Jihad against Europe. There are enough breeding grounds for terrorists in the world like Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc. We don't need another terror cell in Europe's back door. The war on terror will win!!!

Independent? In papers and declarations maybe, but they must live, eat and work and, i suppose, it will be more difficult now. Or do you think that the USA will "help" them too?

yeah... it's good that you've chosen a good nickname for an avatar like that. I think Kosovo will end up in total isolation, as a second hand Albania (and Albania is too poor to join the EU). If you remained with the Serbs, you would have gotten in the EU together and faster, now you've determined them to isolate themselves and you will mean nothing in the higher European configuration.

P.S. I'm not a Serb, I've never been there. I'm just an EU citizen who likes to observe things

I wonder if any of these separatist countries are ready to fully support themselves one they break away? Kosovo is a drain getting millions of dollars and tons of food from Serbia EVEN NOW. Who will suport them once that is cut off? USA? Canada? UK? France? I dont think so...

Reasons not to support separation of kosovo:
1. Serbs in a "free kosovo" will face extreme racism.

2. It is a center of the serbian orthodox church. Similar to Vatican.

3. Why create a second albanian state in europe? How many italian states are there? How about german? It doesnt make sense to create multiple racialy pure countries in the same region.

4. Kosovo could not survive on its own.

5. Why punish serbia like this? They admited to all war crimes and have punished their war criminals. Not the same for some other countries i wont mention...

6. It would be rewarding albanian terrorists and setting up a platform for them to spread further into europe.

7. Dozens of similar cases in the world, all from regions vying for independance but ultimately unable to support themselves as a country.

8. It is too one sided. Very little if none diplomacy was utilised in this problem.

9. Kosovo is bound to join albania. So what kind of independance is this if they do? At first it will start as a guise that albania will economically support kosovo, then they will give them acces to the sea, then they will join albania. If you dont believe me, just wait...

If there was such a mass "ethnic cleansing" why is it 90% albanian if it was 60% before the "ethnic cleansing"
Arent the albanians ethnically cleansing serbs? There were 25% serbs there before Slobodans "cleansing" but are now less then 10%?
(Havent taken into account other nationalities in the percentage)

Slobodan has been punished. He has about as much to do with this as Hitler has with Germany. Slobodan Milosevic was a bad man in control of an average country so why would you label ALL serbians as mass murderers? Isnt that racist?

Kosovo is not independant untill every EU country recognizes it. America does not count.....

Personally I'm happy about it. I think Serbia had no right to keep Kosovo as theirs. I don't see any reason why Kosovo shouldn't be an independent country.
