I picked to visit Italy twice over Paris, but I love Italian food & wasn't sure what France really had to offer. That being said, I went to Paris for the first time last summer & was really impressed with it...like I wish I had more time to spend there! I don't know what the other person is talking about with Paris being dirty...it's a big city so it's not going to be spotless. Plus in my opinion Rome is dirtier, at least the subways.
I think it'd be easier to spend 1 week just in Paris versus 1 week only in Rome. Even if you're not a big art fan, there's tons of stuff to do in Paris, and the Versailles castle is only about an hour away from Paris. Rome may be a little harder to spend a full week in. |

Rome has better weather and food. Paris has more to see, but not by much. I like to walk and Rome is smaller in the center so Rome was better for me. |

Both are good, but I would pick Rome. You have ancient mixed with modern, great food (I prefer Italian to French food), better weather, and the men are better looking, |

Paris was dirty and for the most part unfriendly. Without a doubt Rome would have much more to offer. |

Paris - it's on my list of life goals to eat in a sidewalk cafe in Paris, order in French, and sip on some fine wine. |
