No.It would be a bad idea, because not everyone would get along and it would be too hard to travel from point A to point B(like Russia).Plus,it has been tried before and failed. |

How can you compare the EU to the continental wars fought by Napoleon and Hitler?
The EU states are there by political union, agreed upon by the elected heads of state of the component nations. Napoleon and Hitler fought aggressive wars to occupy foreign nations against their will. |

Apart from the fact that there are too many barriers (e.g. ego's, culture, language, laws and the list goes on) then there is no clear advantage to Europe making itself a "country".
Trade, economic, military, (etc) alignment in the forms of the EU, EEA, NATO, etc etc, provide the framework for all the ties which are advantageous for a country.
History has shown that pushing persons from different cultures, religions, languages etc together artificially, is rarely a long-term solution and over time these differences are exacerbated and the inevitable fractures, create tension and worse.
I wouldn't wish a "United States of Europe" on any of the European countries , besides the fact that there are too many ego’s at work at top level to ever allow such a union anyway. |

No I think they are better off split into smaller chunks. Things are fine as they are now, but I think it was a huge financial mistake to include e.European countries, as it will take decades for them to catch up to the west. We visit family on my partner's side in Warsaw, Poland and some parts of the country are in really bad shape. |
