Russians most likely would vote for Stalin. I found that there seems to be a great deal of nostalgia for old dictators. After the Wall went down, East Germans came west and saw what they had been missing. When they realized that now they would have to work for a living, they became nostalgic for the "good old day" under Walter Ulbricht. They forgot the disappearance of people in the middle of the night.

Russians I've met are the same. They forgot the totalitarian system and its crushing of the human spirit. They remember only that neighbor helped neighbor, forgetting that neighbor spied on neighbor.

Stalin was a psychopathic individual who fell threaten by his own armed forces and intellectuals and Beria was his cowardly executioner.
It is like saying that Hitler, Goring, Goebbels or Dr.Mengele were just slightly confused people.
If some people do vote for genocidal maniacs like that, they must be traitors to their own land.
There is no chance that I would. I rather go to Siberian gulag.

Stalin was proportionate to his epoch - and beside victims
most of russians supported him and realized the construction,
defence of the country and victory on Germany and all east
european allies - anyway he was not elected - but yes I would vote
for him if needed - why not ? when you consider that in other
countries Presidents such as Kennedy or Alliende have been

I wouldn't, but im sure, there are a lot of Russians with their
mentality today certainly would.
They need to be ruled with iron fist.
Putin basically isnâ€™t that much different, it is just - timing he lives in is
different, so he has to adjust to 21th century rules.
