But I must point out that 99% of people in the EU do NOT want Turkey to join. That alone says answers your question.

And we can manage it, by beginning in personal level, to change things, and to react to situations which are not so pleasant..

I believe that the issue is not only Ataturk' s way, which certainly brings Turkey closer to Europe, but also the enforcement of politicians and political parties, while the army has to limit itself only in defence cases and stop governing the country. We all know that military people are very conservative all over the world, and on the other hand their role is to serve the country, not to govern it.....

RedCandy you are wrong!!! Anatolia was at first pagan, do not forget this!! The knocking on wood adn many different rituals show them. The hitites were not followers of islam or christianity. They believed in the force of mother nature and are known as shamans. Please do not forget this. The government will be down soon, I wish they will be gone for good!! I love the country, the culture and the people!.. there amazing, and for **** sake let them Join the EU if they Want Or Dont have a pop at them if they dont!!. Д° am sorry that i could not attend the Ankara Meeting. But Д° hanged our flag in the balcony.Yes this government sucks Д°nci.Д° am social democrat but i am also not against to Military Ku ( Darbe ) too. All entellektuels says Military Ku hit the democracy. You must criticise the democracy then . The biggest fasizm that Hitler came with democratic elections in Germany. So according to my idea democracy is the best system but it is not perfect.

I agree with S.E.E.N., you should understand first what is the true definition of Freedom and Human Rights before you can claim Turkey as a great country. they just copy from our system minus the human right part! Just stop fooling your self and stop doing some thing about this big obsession all you Turkish people have about your race, your country and every thing else!

Why not bring the EU back and talk about human right issues in Turkey! Ataturk tough people of Turkey to make full of them selves!In Turkey they censor the education system like any other Muslim countries!As I said to thousands of other Turks before, building high ways or malls do not make you a better person, taking care of people and human rights do make you a free nation! I just think Turkish people are too obsessed with them selves That they can not see out side of the box!It was for Bush that you became important temporary, do not forget that! If the war ends in middle east, you will all go back to the way you used to live just like your other neighbour countries such as Lebanon, Iraq, Iran and etc... How long are you trying to fool our self!You get mad if we tell you the truth, then do not consider your self a free great country and do not compare your country with our countries please!A lot of people are just polite but in reality people can judge for them selves an see what is going on in those countries including Turkey!
