3 night trip to Nice, France? |
My friend and I (two girls aged 24) are going to Nice for the first time. We'll be staying near the Promenade des Anglais for 3 nights. Can anyone give us some advice on things to do - nightlife and good restaurants etc. Any tips? Thanks... |

My favourite part of town is Vieille Ville (Old Town) Nice, evenings here are great. It's a pedestrianised area, a labyrinth of little old roads, full of bars and cafes. You'll also find some odd little hole in the wall clubs and music venues.
There are buses that run between Nice and Monte Carlo, take a day trip. One of my favourite places in the entire world is Eze Village, a fortified medieval village almost 600m above sea level. The views are spectacular and as there are, again, no cars really peaceful and quiet. |

Not quite what you're looking for but .....
We have just come back from Cannes and I would recommend a day trip to Monaco. You can get there by train for 12 euros each (return) and it is really beautiful there. As for St Tropez well I would give it a miss although their signature cakes "Tartes Tropezienne" are delicious!!!
By the way if you do go to Monaco when you get to the station go up the escalator and head for the tourist info. They will give you a map and draw a route on it that ensures you see the most important bits in a sensible order!! Otherwise it can get a bit confusing!
Enjoy! |

I´m sure you will have a great time. You must go to the old town for drinks at night. There are many cozy bars and restaurants that can be found there. If you looking for some of your country men, you can visit Waynes also in the old town. But if you really want to feel like your part of the "in crowd", to to Juan Les Pines, a 20 min trainride west were you should visit the beach with all the beach clubs for sundowners! Maraia beach is a great place to be at. Keep an eye on the train table since that´s the only (taxis are a rare thing to find in Cote Azur) way for you to make your way back to nice. Don´t waste time on sleep, you´re only here for 3 days! Go and watch the mega yachts in Antibes, be amazed of the wealth and gorgeous crew members...
France is faily safe but always be on your gard. Have a fab time!! |

If you just walk through the Promenade des Anglais, you'll find plenty of places to eat and party. Right in old Nice, the open market Marche aux Fleurs is full of restaurants and things to do. It's definitely a place to explore on foot. One of the places I ventured to when there with friends was Le Ghost. We had a ton of fun there.
