You should go see The Louvre, Musee de Orsay, Pantheon, Opera House, Tracadero (Naval Museum), Notre Dame, Jardin de Truilles, Moulin Rouge, the catacombs (you can get into them from the Eiffel Tower side of the river and the Pont Neuf (the oldest bridge in Paris). The Champs de Elysees is too touristy and not truly French anymore. |

I'm guessing you're going to Paris only?
If it's the case, it's too bad but there are still plenty of stuff to see:
The "latin quarter" is a good place to take a walk, and enjoy caffe, old monuments and plenty of stores. You might want to check out "Studio Galande" which is a theater playing :" the Rocky horror picture show", go casually dressed (people follow the movie and threw water, or rice when it's raining or wedding time in the movie...) : bring some water, rice and a newspaper for better fun and interaction...
There is one thing good to know in Paris is that you can go on the top of lots of places, like the arc of triumph , or the Defense or even better: Notre Dame, you definitely should climb up there to check out the gurgles...
I also like the Pompidou center or Beaubourg: it's really ugly looking but the place in front is fun, plenty of shops around (touristy though) and plenty of art inside the building.
Then if you like it, walk next to the Seine, and enjoy the little shops along the river and rest these feet at any caffe place drinking an Orangina or "un demi pression": (a beer).
Thenyou have the various gardens (Luxembourg, Tuilerie, Plante) to take a break and/or an ice cream...it's really nice especially when it's super hot. Of course if you're there during the summer: go along the river, they dump plenty of sand for "Paris-plage (beach)"...
Finlaly, if you're a fan of dead celebrities, check out the Pere Lachaise cemetery...aside for the dead people, it is a strangely nice place to go to.
Sorry that was long...and I forgot tones of places...oh well, someone will do better soon!
Enjoy your trip! |

are you just going to paris?
Also there is Sainte chapelle (lovely stained glass window/walls)
I loved seeing Rocamadour and little towns Autoire and St Cirq lapopie in kinda the central/south area of France. That whole area is lovely and there are also caves with ancient remains of people. |

Don't forget " Montmartre, place du tertre, rue mouffetard, les arenes de Lutèce.." wich are very pleasant area but not well-know of tourists.
