Affordable hotel in Paris? |
Does anyone know of an affordable hotel in Paris in a good location? Thanks! Additional Details Good point. I live in Europe and earn the euro, so I'm speaking of affordable in European terms. I've checked online, but would also like to hear from anyone who has personal experience with "affordable" accomodation in Paris. Thanks. |

Mary's Hotel: http://www.maryshotel.com/espace.htm
Mary's Hotel is a very nice hotel right in the centre oh Paris. Located in a quiet street near "la Bastille".
With its 40 rooms all fully equiped (bath room, shower, WC, phone and lift) Mary's Hotel welcome you 24 hours.
A good geographical situation...
Gare du nord and gare de l'est as well as austerlitz or Gare de Lyon are accessible with no change thanks t "metro" or available "buses" near the Hotel. |

Even if you earn euros, "affordable" has a lot of meanings. So my own defintion may not be yours.
However, I can reccomend several hotels which I've used in several dozen visits to paris over the last 30+ years.
My favorite is the Hotel St. Andre des Arts ( http://www.123france.co.uk/en/0/hotel-saint-andre-des-arts-paris_486_en/index.html ) at 66 rue St Andre des Arts in the 6th arrondissement. Its a perfect location, a block from the Odeon metro stop on a very lively street, and an easy walk to many tourist sights. At 89 euros for a double with breakfast and taxes included its an excellant deal.
The Hotel de Nesle (http://www.hoteldenesleparis.com/) at 7 rue de Nesle, also in the 6th, is cute and a bit quirky. Doubles range from 75 to 100 euros.
The Hôtel des Alliés at 20 rue Berthollet in the 5th, not far from the Luxembourg Gardens has doubles for as little as 45 euros. (http://www.alliesparishotel.com/ )

It really depends on your definition of affordable and your preference for location. There are several sites that list hotels in Paris and airlines will sell hotel rooms with airline ticket. If you are not in Europe then the rooms may seem expensive due to a strong Euro against many other currencies. My advice would be check the web sites to see if any meet your needs. |
