Passport, yes. They will not allow him on the Eurostar without one, and they will want to know how long he plans to stay in France, etc. They will also need to check his passport to make sure he has not already overstayed his UK visa (they automatically give a 90 day visitor's visa at passport control when you enter the UK). No special visa will be required to enter or leave France.

Well you will need your passport, that's for sure.
I don't know if you need a visa, but why don't you find the French Embassy website, they ususally have good advice.

Yes! the Passport will be required at both ends....Here and in France.

Olivia
Yes you will need your passport, it is another country altogether. If you are going for a holiday (i.e you have to come to europe for a few weeks and have your return ticket already) you will fill out a temporary visa on the plane, you will also fill out one of these from US to UK.
