Americans (or any non-French people) in Paris, why did you move? How? |
I'm just curious why you people would move to France. What is it that motivated you? What are the job prospects? |

I've got dual citizenship (American and French) and I spend about six months in each country. You get the best of both worlds - if you can work for a company that has offices in both locations and will let you switch back and forth between the two, it's an ideal situation. They'll take care of all the paperwork for you, and all you have to do is have fun with it =]
If you speak fluent French, it's not terribly difficult to find a job. The only problem is you can't get a work visa without first having a job, and it's hard to find a job without a work visa ! Unfortunately, that's how it is is most countries. But if you can get around that, it's all wonderful from there.
Hope this helps ! |

It's great. The city is beautiful and public transportation is so easy. Although Paris is small (compared to big US cities), there is so much to see and do. I lived there for a year and still felt there was so much more to see.
Yes, the locals aren't the nicest, but don't take offense - they're like that to everyone. Don't expect any ounce of customer service. That part was terrible in Paris. But I think everything else Paris had to offer made up for it.
Job prospects - well, there aren't many. It's also pretty tough to get a visa. Good luck with that. |

I always wanted to live in a place where all the locals are exceptionally rude and they don't bathe too frequently but use massive amounts of cologne to cover their stench. I was right! |
