what does "copie les dates en mettant en lettres le mois et en ajoutant le nom d'une ville francaise" mean?

It means:
"Copy the dates, (spelling out the months), and add the name of a french city or town".

Why not just use Babel fish for simple sentances like this?

All you have to do is to write the months with letters (example : "June" and not "6") and add the french city's name.
