Anyone been to Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris, France?

I'm going to Germany this summer and my flight arrival is in Terminal 2E at Charles de Gaulle (Paris), and the connecting flight to Dusseldorf is in 2D. Am I able to walk there? or do I have to take a shuttle/ tram to the next terminal?

I just returned from Paris. CDG is huge! One can easily get lost there. When my plane landed, we got off the plane on the tarmac and hopped onto an awaiting shuttle which then took us to the building portion of the airport to proceed through customs. Another fellow passenger, had to take another plane to travel elsewhere in France, and she went through customs, retrieved her luggage from the conveyor belt and speedily went to catch her other plane. I would imagine you would have to do the same but if you are booking through a travel agent, you should be able to get more details (ie. airport layout). Nonetheless, there is no shortage of staff in Paris anywhere and all you have to do is ask for directions and help. They are quite helpful. Mind you, it is very helpful if you are able to speak in French. If not, not to worry, there are people who speak english but they prefer to speak their mother tongue all over Paris. With that said, you may wish to jot down your questions and have someone translate them into French and present the questions when you need to do ensure there is no miscommunication and you do not miss your connection flight.

Let me know how your venture is...
Bon voyage!

From terminal 2E to 2D is quite straightforward, you can walk there. As the signs in the airport are a bit confusing, one could be lost. Don't hesitate to ask around. Have a good trip!

mike, disregard the previous response by J and his input as his story is a common mistake to people who connect flights.
What you will need to do first is to ensure that your luggage is booked straight to germany from where you are flying, i presume the US. This means you will not have to pick them up in paris and check in again.
You are also supposed to visit the transit desk in paris once you land just to ensure your flight is on time, be delivered a new boarding pass if not issued from first airport of departure and there you can also enquire about your luggage, they can track it for you and tell you whether it has been loaded on the plane or not yet.
moving from one hall to the other in paris is not very hard and very well indicated. it is a 5 to 10 minutes walk depending on your physical condition but you have those long flat electric walkways to assist you in the trip.
I am adding the webpage for the paris airport and the map links , look it up it is not that hard, not far away to get there.
