To tell you "everything" would take a book. Luckily, there are a lot of people who have already written such books. You would be well advised to get a few of them and read them before making your decision. |

I've visited Paris twice and loved it and the people. I hear Americans complain that the French are nasty, but I never ran into any problems. Buy a English-French book and learn some basic French, Respect their country and culture and if you visit churches and museums, be especially respectful.
I think the people who have problems most likely bring it on themselves if they have a "better than thou, 'cause I'm an American" attitude.
Learning to greet, thank and say goodby in French goes a long way. The subway (Metro) system is very easy to learn.,
but Paris is a city you can walk to see most of the famous sights. Of course. like any city in the world there are safety issues to consider. |

I spent a month there this past summer.
It was the best experience of my life thus far.
The Eiffel Tower at night is amazing.
(while i was there it was lit up blue for the EU)
The market on Boulevard Richard Lenoir is adorable, it is everything a market should be. on metro 5 stop Richard Lenoir or Breguet Sabin.
Study abroad. It is the best experience you will ever have.
You meet new people, try new food, what else could you ask for?
