A lot of damage? I haven't noticed anything, it has been pretty quiet here. It is a few stupid kids and it was only one very small area as far as I am aware, certainly nothing I have seen first hand around any part of the city I have been in.

By the way, in Europe, liberal doesn't mean left-wing. People that call themselves liberals in Europe are usually centrists or on the Right. I don't think the UDF or UMP supporters were amongst the rioters.

My window's open right now, and I see nothing new on the Western front. The Eiffel tower is still there — hang on, let me check — yes, it is. I can't hear anything unusual. Paris is definitely not burning. Weather is so-so, though. Lots of clouds.

Don't you worry. I live in Paris and I've seen nothing but on TV. The media, as usual, is overdoing it.

This insipid post oversimplifies and misrepresents the situation, not that I'd expect more from someone who goes by the name "Blahblahblah". Also, if your post can be said to belong anywhere, it would be the Politics section (by default), not the travel section.

They are embarassing to everyone.
