I always buy small souvenirs from the top floor of Galleries Lafayette, the big department store on Boulevard Haussman. Lots of choices and not all of them are crap. Tiny Eiffel Towers go over big with the folks back home.

If you are on an organized tour, watch out for the shops recommended by the tour guide. In some cases, the guide gets a percentage of the purchases of the tour so there will be a mark up. Souvenir shops near tourist attractions can also be pricey. Consider shopping at Monoprix. It's a dept. store (moderate prices by French standards) and regular French ppl shop there. Souvenirs don't necessarily have to be gaudy t-shirts with the word PARIS on it or snowglobes. Anything made in France can be a nice souvenir. Cookies, candy, too.

There are souvenirs every where you look. Go to any of the tourist traps (Eiffel Tower, L'Arc du Triomphe,etc.....)

I am sure there are many shops. Why wouldn't there be.Guess you will find them when you get there.Have fun.

so many actually

Lani
There are souvenir shops everywhere, especially near the tourist traps. However...if you love shopping and want to find something TRULY french and wonderful, I suggest going to the market streets- a unique experience of Europe- cafes, patisseries, and more.

Try:
Rue Mouffetard near the Panthéon,
Rue Montorgueil near the Les Halles metro station and
Rue de Buci in the Saint-Germain des Près district.

Go there in the morning if you can.

Bon voyage!
