hello,
Well,i come from the south of France so i would say that it's pretty cold up north in November lol Well you should take warm clothes anyway and an umbrella would be very useful as well although you may have a couple of nice days if you're lucky!
About getting here and around, you have a whole range of activities available near Paris, and the transportation network can get you almost everywhere you want.So if you want to have some ideas before coming, go to http://english.pidf.com , it's a website ( in english ) about tourism in Ile de France ( Paris' region ) and there you'll find information on what to do, where to stay, accommodation, shopping malls maybe! About shopping, don't worry at all, you'll find the best centers in Paris downtown such as galeries lafayettes or galeries printemps, it's quite expensive to me but lots of people can afford it so it's up to you. Otherwise you've got heaps of other centers, whole streets dedicated to shopping, and so on... As the person above said, you can go to La Villette and visit La cité des sciences et de l'Industrie, there are lots of things to see and do, both for adults and kids, you learn things while having fun, it's a great experience.
The must sees are usually the most popular monuments in Paris, such as the Louvre museum, the arc de triomphe or the Eiffel Tower, Versailles' Castle and gardens, but for a kid, it may be a bit boring after a couple of days, so if you want to make sure that you'll make the most of your stay in Paris, don't hesitate to have a look at other websites, official ones of course but you can also look for some travel journals onlines to get a few more ideas and tips!
Have a nice trip and enjoy your stay in France! |

Must sees for all ages:
Eiffel tower
Arc de Triumph
Versailles
ride on the Seine
Like the weather in so many locations around the world, the weather in western Europe has been wishy-washy, however, at that time it should be very cool, cloudy, and rainy.

It should be nice but could be crisp or rainy, that's the weather. Not at all bad for long though.
There are so many things to do besides Disney. How about the Louvre? Versailles? a million bistros, art galleries, museums, river cruise... |

The weather will be cooland possibly rainy. I reccommend visiting the hotel de vill at the center of the city, they usually have a carosel there and during the cold months will have a skating rink., it may be up by thetime you get there. I also would reccommend Sacre coeur, especiallysinceto a 6 yr old it will looklike a white castle on a hill. Take lots of metro rides, as the train will be very exciting for a 6 yr old, and visit the jardins de luxembourg, where youcan rent a little sailboat to push aroung the fountains.
I almost forgot, take the tour of the city by boat (on the bateau Mouche.)it is the best tour there is, you get to seethe mini statue of liberty ion front of the eiffel tower, and a 6 yr old will love a boatride! |

In the nothern part of Paris, at la Vilette, is the "Cité des sciences et de l'industrie" where there are these incredible cinemas which are in 3D and which move, there's also the one which has the widest screen of europe, 1500 sq metre... children love these stuff, well... my son did, he's 7...
There's a little hotel which is near the metro station of place d'italie and which is called ''l'hotel de la place des alpes''. Their price is incredible, and the rooms are really clean... it's just a little tiny... I think you can manage for 5 days...
Have a nice trip... |
