17ème ARRONDISSEMENT. Located near the Etoile, this celebrated restaurant serves contemporary haute cuisine in a space dressed with accents of stone, glass, leather and multi-hued woods. Oysters in aspic, sea bass with spices, and grilled pigeon are just a few of the favorites, and 800 fine wines admirably highlight the menu. After a wonderful dinner, indulge in an out-of-this-world dessert, fashioned of chocolate, fruit or some other delicacy. Your palate will thank you for the pleasure. English spoken. METRO: Charles de Gaulle-Etoile or Ternes (line 2)

Best Patisserie:

Best Chocolate Shop:
I can't decide, there are too many!! But here are my favorites:

Hours of operation can be quite variable. A given chocolatier's various boutiques (Hermé's, for instance), may be closed on different days; it's always best to call first.

Angelina, 226, rue de Rivoli; (33-1) 42.60.82.00, First Arrondissement. Métro: Tuileries.

La Charlotte de l'Isle, 24, rue St.-Louis en l'Île, Fourth; (33-1) 43.54.25.83. Métro: Pont Marie, Cité.

Michel Chaudun, 149, rue de l'Université, Seventh; (33-1) 47.53.74.40. Métro: Invalides, La Tour Maubourg.

Christian Constant, 37, rue d'Assas, Sixth; (33-1) 53.63.15.15. Métro: Rennes, St.-Placide.

Pierre Hermé, 72, rue Bonaparte, Sixth; (33-1) 43.54.47.77. Métro: St.-Sulpice.

Jean-Paul Hévin, 231, rue St.-Honoré, First; (33-1) 55.35.35.96. Métro: Concorde, Opera, Tuileries. For other boutique locations, www.jphevin.com.

La Maison du Chocolat, 8, boulevard de la Madeleine, Ninth; (331) 47.42.86.52. Métro: Madeleine. For other boutique locations, www.lamaisonduchocolat.com.

Best ice cream would be Berthillon, rue St Louis en l'Ile... it's always crowded and sometimes you have to line up for a long time and, funny enough, it's closed in August, but it's worth it ! You can also try Raimo, on Avenue Daumesnil in the 12th arrondissement, which is more traditionnal in regards to the flavours, but also very good.
Best restaurant, best patisserie and best chocolate shop... well, there are too many to decide... maybe Laduree for the patisserie (you'll have to taste the "macarons")... but the Paul bakeries have also very good cakes, particularly the Mille feuilles... Good idea to go the the Lafayette Gourmet supermarket or to the Grande Epicerie (from the "Bon Marche" department store). Enjoy !

Nirmala
Beathillol is the best ice cream. Not sure if it is ittlien though.

Rillifane
Best ice cream is Berthillon on the Ile St. Louis.

Best restaurant has a lot of candidates but I'd vote for Taillevent.

Best chocolate shop is Ladurée.

Best cafe is also open to a lot of argument. I'd vote for Cafe de Deux Magots.

Best patisserie is Boutique Pierre Hermé.
