Assuming that you're traveling from the US, and considering the time it takes to fly there and back, a day trip would be a waste of money and time. |

If you will be in Europe already, and only have a day to spare, you could do a day trip to Paris. Just realize that Paris is a huge city with loads of attractions and it take days and days to see it all. So I would do a bus tour and then maybe one activity and a few meals. This will give you just a taste of Paris so that maybe you could see the rest of it at a later date.
Would you be coming from the US and then going right back? That would be a waist of Air faire. Reschedule it so that you can have at least a week in Europe. You don't necessarily have to spend the entire week in Paris, but you could if you really liked it. |

if from london, i would definitely tell you to take a chance, coz its so closeby. one train to and fro -eurostar. but if from somewhere else, i would not suggest it, a waste of a day. |

From the east coast of the US, it is an overnight flight that arrives in Paris usually between 7 am and 12 noon. The last return flight that I'm aware of departs Paris at 4 pm, so that gives you 4 hours and you'll spend at least half of that time getting through the airport and to/from the city.
If you're going there from a neighboring country such as Belgium or Great Britain, then you could go. However, in one day you have no hope of doing anything more than scratching the surface of what Paris has to offer. My recommendation, which you didn't ask for I know, is to wait till you can spend at least a week there. |
