Commute time by train is 2h40 mn minimum and train is the fastest mean of travelling.

Due to different time in Paris and London, that means in subjective time :
You take the early 6.22 am in Paris to arrive at 7.58 am in London
You take back the 06.42 pm in London to arrive at 9.17 pm in Paris.

Doesn't let you enjoy much free time. And the prices are steep.

Sure, you can spend all your earnings on the commute, which is now rather fast on the Eurostar.
Leave London at about 5 a.m. and get to Paris about 9, then work, and return home on an evening Eurostar. You'll be in London in time for a movie beforw you go to bed. Otherwise get a job as a flight attendant.

Commuting 4 hrs each way daily, it is up to you. Make absolutely no sense. It is like living in Los Angeles and driving everyday to Las Vegas to work.
Even if you fly, driving from home to airport, be there 2hr prior departure and how you are going to go to your office, traffic, etc...
Oh, have you thought about the cost also????

No, at least not if you work normal hours, 5 days/week. The commute even by the fastest train would be too long. If you can arrange to telecommute, that's different of course.

It has gotten a lot easier in the past ten years to get between the two cities, though.

uuuuuuuh... let me think. no

?
The commute might be a hassle, but there is no law against it. :-)
