Can I survive in Paris for a week with 300 Euros?

...I'm very apprehensive about this now. This is cash, not credit, since I do not have a credit card. Our hotel has already been paid for and breakfast is free.

Yes, you can. Eat and buy stuff in the cheaper parts of town, Montmarte and Latin Quartier. Montmarte is a well known area among Parisiens for bargains and Latin Quartier is the university area. The prices vary wildly, the rumour that everything's expensive is a lie, you've just got to be careful.

absolutely. If you are going there just to shop you would probably need more, but if you are going to museums and other tourist destinations most are free. When I was there last summer the only thing I really had to buy was a metro pass so I could get around. I don't remember how much they cost, but they aren't super expensive. Hope this helps.

Edit: Most destinations are free to students, I don't know what the adult prices are

sedfr
survive for sure.
If you want to visit nice places and museum, it will do.
If you want to go to a nice restaurant, it will not
If you want to buy present, surely not

Glad breakfast is included, may be only meal you get once or twice, don't plan on going anywhere or doing anything either.

Pat, 2 GBP is 3 euros, not 30.

Halsen
Sure you can, if hotel and breakfast is paid for. Just be careful with what you spend. It's like any city, you can live cheap, and you can live expensive, just live cheap. 300 is still a fair amount, you can live good on that.
Since when is 2 pounds 30 euro?? it's more like 3 euro.

Couurse you can. Just dont go toe 'exclusive' clubs
If you need atmosphere created then fukk you x

cherub
yes you can. If you are just visiting tourist sites, then your needs will be to pay entry fee to museums. many places are free. u pay to go up lift of eiffel tower. you pay to go on cruise on the Seine. you can live on soup and baguette sandwiches with the odd steak and chips not costing too much. If you intend eating out at night and going clubbing then you may need more. Have a good time. Paris is beautiful.

If bed and breakfast has been paid for, 300 euros can be enough. Your three biggest costs are accomodation, food, and paying for tourist attractions. Lunch and dinner (based on London prices), can be done for less than £15 a day if restuarants and eateries are chosen wisely. Weekly travelcards for the Paris transport system will be the cheapest option than paying single trips or day travelcards and shouldn't be more than about £25 (bear in mind you are only likely to be travelling within the city itself rather than the suburbs). Soft drinks and juices from supermarkets and newsagents shouldn't really cost more than a fiver a day (but carry a bottle of water around when travelling around the city - you'll be able to have a drink when thirsty without paying over the odds for a drink when at the tourist attraction). This totals about £165 for 7 days, which at today's conversion is about 245 euros. That leaves you about 55 euros to spend on tourist attractions. Just don't go boozing and you should be fine.

just be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes of course ... maybe you are student .. thus you might have lower prices with your card in museums and cinemas. Check at the entrance.

Take a transport card for a week, ask to the RATP officer in any station (and sorry if they are rude). I guess RATP officer in metro stations nearby great monuments speak better english but I cant say it is a rule.

There are plenty of cheap restaurant, espacially asian, turkish. Price are higher in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 16th, 17th arrondissement. You could find lower price in 13th, 14th, 19th or 20th arrondissement (may be not by the park of Buttes Chaumont).

A cheap meal can be from 6 to 10 €. An average meal between 12 and 20 €. An expensive meal ... has no price.

If you want to buy clothes, avoid Lafayette and try with Tati (there are plenty of shops on the line 2 of métro near Anvers, Barbès-Rochechouart, La Chapelle. It is not far from Sacré Choeur of Montmartre.

If you absolutely need a pint, there are plenty of pubs doing happy hours
http://www.parispubs.com/

Example : Bombardier Pub near Panthéon have pints at 4€50 from 6 til 9 pm

(but the price of beer will always be higher here :o(((( )

Goonies2701
Yes...but museum are not free, you have to pay metro and meal, I think It's short in fact...

m m
Sure you can. If the hotel and breakfast is paid for then 300 Euros for a week is enough.
Get a travel map and mark all the places you want to visit. Get an open travel pass on the Metro and Rail service. If you take tours, compare the pricing since this tends to vary. Food is readily available and the panninis are really good (about 3 to 4 Euros each). Buy bottle water from the super markets, stay away from Coke/Pepsi (only because it is very pricy between $3 to $5 per can).
Have fun

Yes, you can, if you use the money well. for example buy a subway card for one week, that includes buses and streetcars, never eat in a frenc restaurant prefer besides Mcdonals, small restaurants from minorites like Korean, Arabic, vietnamesse, greek, etc. to go to versalles there a ticket by train that cost more or less 6,oo Euros an includes the subway metro fare per one day, it takes you to the stattion and includes a tour by bus taht picks you up in the train station, you go to the castle and if you want you only pay the entrance 11 euros and the garden tour is about 8 euroros. To go to the Effiel tower Champs Ellyses Arch etc. you go by bus to see the city and walk a loty, the subwaycard includes de funicular to Montmartre Church, you need a day to visit the church, gardens and the montmarthe area, to the Louvre cost more or less 10 euros do not pay for the tour with the brochure is enough, enjoy Paris. Good luck Enjoyed the street that is free, remember most of the most beautiful things in life are free.have a good trip.

Probably ,but you wont be able to live it up.

My daughter went to a roadside cafe and paid £2 for a cofee, which is around 30 euros ,a tenth of your weekly spends.

You can always go to the student quarters, which is a little cheaper.
oops sorry e1 its 3 euros.
Why do you want to go to Paris any way ,it stinks.
