I asked this same question when I planned to go on a day coach trip to France with less than 3 months left on my passport and was told it would not be a problem. If you are flying the best thing to do is to phone the airline and check with your tour operator as well before committing to buy. Also telephone the French Embassy for more advice on this as I'm sure they can clarify the situation for you.

Not clear from your question where you are. If you in the UK and an EU citizen, the only requirement is that your passport is valid for the duration of your stay. If you are from outside the EU, you will only get a definitive answer from the French authorities,. Try your nearest consulate of the Foreign Ministry website

Have a good trip - you'll love it!

I don't believe you can, call the airline or French consulate to be sure, but I think it must be valid for 6 months beyond your travel date.

No, they, along with a lot of other countries, your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond length of stay. Hope that helps.

To be absolutely sure, check with the nearest French Consulate. But this might be a good time to renew your passport, not many people renew them in December. That would automatically remove the problem/question.

France does not seem to be on the six month law, but I would check it out anyway
