Can I walk from the Eiffel Tower to the Arc Du Triumph?

Yes, you can walk. It's 1 mile. From the Arc to the Louvre it's 2 miles.

A perfect option is the Metro (1 euro per trip) - Paris's Subway. From the Eiffel Tower, if you look across the river Seine you will see a palace called the Trocadero. If you were to walk to the other side of the palace you will find a subway stop and stairs leading undergound. There are two subway lines that service this station: Line 6 and line 9. If you take line 6 in the direction "Charles de Gaulle - Ã‰toile" the final subway stop (the third stop) is right underneath the Arc de Triomphe.

From the Arc de Triomphe there is also a direct subway line to the Louvre. After visiting the Arc, go back down into the subway and take line 1 toward "ChÃ¢teau de Vincennes". The Louvre will be at the 6th stop called "Palais Royal - MusÃ©e du Louvre".

What a lot of tourists don't know is that you can enter the museum from the underground (it's huge down there, with lots of restaurants and stuff, but lots of signs pointing you in the right way). I don't know if there is an advantage (maybe they aren't available at the Louvre) but I bought a combo entrace, Louvre + D'Orsay at bookstore close to the underground entrance and saved a couple euros.

To do this most efficiently you should start your day at the Louvre.

From the Louvre you can either take the Metro line 1 (Direction : La Defense (Grande Arche)) to the Charles de Gaulle-Etoile stop (a trip of 8 minutes) or walk thru the Arc du Carousel to the Tuileries Gardens to the Place de la Concorde and then up the Champs Elysee to the Arc de Triomphe. (about a 45 minute walk).

From the Arc de Triomphe its an easy walk to the Eiffel Tower. Walk straight down the Avenue KlÃ©ber to the Place du TrocadÃ©ro then thru the Palais de Chaillot to the broad plaza that overlooks the Seine and the Eiffel Tower for the very best view in the city. Its a very pleasant walk of about 20-25 minutes. You can also just grab the #6 Metro (Direction : Nation) and take it to the TrocadÃ©ro station. (5 minutes).

From the Eiffel Tower take the RER C (Direction : Massy-Palaiseau) to the Musee D'orsay stop (7 minutes). You can also walk. Depending on your exact route it will take about 30 minutes. You can see the Champs de Mars, Military academy, Invalides, the Pont Alexandre III and the Palais Bourbon along the way so if you have the time its quite worthwhile walking.

You can definitely walk from the Eiffel Tower to the Arc du Triumph. I would suggest walking as much as you can . . . the walk is just as enjoyable and beautiful as the destination. However, if you are pressed for time, or need a break, I would suggest that you buy a booklet of metro tickets - the metro system in Paris is excellent.

If you are up for it and the weather is good, walking is the best way to see Paris. I have walked from the Arc to the tower. It is quite a hike but if you pace yourself, stop for a coffee, you will be ok. I agree with the others. Buy a carnet of 10 tickets in case you get tired. They can be used on the bus or the subway. If you don't feel like walking anymore hop the bus and see the sites.

Go the the Arc first and then it's about a 6 block walk to the Tower. From there to the D'Orsay is a couple of miles. Find the nearest metro station because it stops at the Louvre and the D'Orsay is right across the river.

From the Eiffel Tower to L'arc de Triomphe is not too far at all. It's about a mile and should only take you half an hour or so. However, from L'arc de Triomphe to le MusÃ©e d'Orsay is about 2 miles, so by this point (considering you will have climbed many stairs to get to the top of L'arc de Triomphe and you're going to be on your feet in the museums) you might be tired.

If you're not feeling too bad, I'd say walk it, as the easiest way is straight down le Champs ElysÃ©es, which is always good to walk down. From the MusÃ©e d'Orsay to le Louvre is a very short walk and will only take you ten minutes.

My advice would be to walk either one of the long journeys, and take the mÃ©tro for the other (the maps are fairly easy to figure out, just go on ratp.fr for a really detailed one), then walk between the two museums.

You can walk it, but it's quite a walk. If you are THAT CHEAP.. then WHY are you going to one of the MOST EXPENSIVE CITIES IN THE WORLD? It will cost you $5 for a cup of coffee and a croissant and even eating in McDonalds is expensive.

BUY a 10 ticket booklet of trip tickets for the Metro and USE THEM.. it's a whole lot quicker than walking around Paris.
