You can search for a good value for money hotel at this website: http://www.travel-europe.org You can search on hotels on customer ratings, rates (single/double room), location near certain landmarks (airport/eiffeltower/city center etc.), city map etc. to find the best value for money hotel in Paris. Also if you select france from the drop down menu or Click "Countries" and select France. You will find a link called guides it has all kinds of information about Paris and the must see landmarks like Eiffeltower, Arc the Triomphe etc.
Also nice info about Paris:

We stayed at the Lux Hotel Picpus in Paris. It was exactly one metro stop from Nation which is a connecting stop to many RER and metros. It was 79 euro per night, but if you skipped breakfast they knock off 7 euros. Once you learn the metro system, this hotel is easy access to pretty much anyplace. Hard Rock Cafe, Eiffel Tower, Sacre Cour, Pigalle, Notre Dame. There is a place off of St. Michele near Notre Dame that has dozens of restaurants. They are just lined up and down the streets and at night you can get great deals on dinner because they compete like crazy. This is the cheapest place to get good food in Paris. The area near the Sacre Cour has lots of local artists; on most days and you can walk around and look at the artwork. You can even get your own picture done for around 40 euro. Find the old lady who does the brown charcoal, she is awesome! Watch your pockets though, this is a rough area, especially after dark!! Good luck and have fun! |

I satyed in an apartment when I was in Paris for a week. It was located about 3 blocks from the Eiffel Tower. It only costs 775 US dollars for a week. It is about a 4 minute walk from a metro stop too. Heres the site if you are interested:

there are some cheap hotels there i stayed in one in 1997
but cannot remember the name
If you head to the Arc de Triump you can get a two day pass on a bus from there where you can get on and off at all the famous sites to look at the Louve, Notradamme, Eiffel tower
also at the Eiffel tower if you walk down to water side you can take a boat ride down the river its fabulous ,make sure you get to the louve early by 9am to miss the long line to get in |
