Can anyone recommend a good quality 3/4 star hotel in Paris?

It needs to be reasonably priced with a double room and ensuite available.
Thanks. :D

Your question is too vague to know what would suit you better. Most hotels offer doubles with en suite. Do you want a hotel that has a restaurant, a lift, a public lounge, or one that only offers B and B?
The standard of hotels in Paris has improved considerably but the prices, as in all capitals, have also gone up.
Do you want a chain hotel or a privately owned one, a modern or a traditional one, an impersonal place or one that has individuality, a quirky little place in a quiet spot, one near a particular métro station...? There is no point in staying in a hotel that is too far from where you want to go.
I suggest that you look at a few general sites and pick one that matches the price bracket that you are prepared to pay, the area where you would prefer to stay and the sort of anemities you are expecting. You can then look at the individual websites of the ones that suit you and see if this is what you want. The advantage of booking directly with the hotel is that they may have special deals on the net. We went recently and found a room with all amenities in a good class hotel discounted to 100 Euros from the rack rate of 280, but the breakfast was not included and that was 40 Euros per person, so we had breakfast in a near by café where it only was 12 Euros for two.
Some hotels also offer special rates out of season.

Try these and work your way upwards, then look at their particular website on the net .

Also check the "Tripadvisor" recommendations from people who have stayed. Usually the judments are pretty fair.

Good luck and enjoy your stay.

I'm not sure what you mean by reasonably priced.

There are no "reasonably priced" four star hotels (unless you think 720 euros a night is reasonable).

Also you should understand that the star system in France is a check list of amenities (is there an elevator for example) and not a very reliable indicator of quality. I suspect that when you use the term 4 star or 3 star you are thinking of something else.

its quite close to the Luxembourg gardens, beautiful spot to have lunch

Try the Hotel California (no kidding) on Rue Des Ecole. Not fancy, but it's in a great location, and the price isn't too bad.
