The cheapest room for 4 people that I found is at the Residence Maeva Les Pistes. it's 17 miles from the city center, but it's only 72.65USD per night. It's a 1 bedroom apartment for 4...

Try a B & B (chambres d'hotes) which are of a much higher standard than n UK. There is one in Meribel owned, to the best of my knowledge, by an Irish lady named Bridget Daley. They have six rooms, two doubles, three twins and a family room.
