The Metro and the RER are part of the same system. The Metro runs primarily in the city proper while the RER reaches out to suburban areas. In many American cities they would call something like the RER "Light Rail." The two systems join within the city and you can transfer from one to the other.
Take the RER B line from the station which in the terminal at CDG. You can buy your tickets at the ticket booth which is there. The train is marked "Direction : Massy-Palaiseau."
Get off at the Chatelet-Les Halles stop and transfer to Metro line 14 marked "Direction : Saint-Lazare" which wil take you to the Pyramides metro stop.
Your RER ticket will allow you to transfer to the Metro line without further charge. You will have to pass thru a turnstile to exite the RER part of the system to effect the transfer to the Metro part.
Be careful however, not to exit the RER/Metro system while looking for the Metro line. If you see a sign that says "Limite de validité des billets" you are about to do just that.
A Jim Morrison site that few tourists know about is a bar called Le Mazet which is at 61 rue St. Andre des Arts. It is the place where he had his last drink in public. Although its been a bit yuppified since the days when a lot of hard cases and musicians hung out there (I should know, I was one of them) its the same location.
His last public sighting was at a movie theater (now defunct) at 9 Rue Buffault.
He was found dead at his apartment at on the third floor at 17 rue Beautreillis (closest metro stop is Bastille) in the Marais. |

The RER trains. There's an RER train station connected to de gaulle. It's going to cost you heavily to wave a taxi down out front of the airport and go into the city that way (50 euros or more). Use the train, it will cost you like, one euro and 25 cents |

RER B(réseau express régional) is the solution, mainly for where you stay in Paris -
http://www.ratp.info/orienter/cv/carteparis.php
The fare is 9 euros ( about 11.5 $ ) pro person - 0 supplement for luggage - More than four persons => minibus-taxi=better
Be clever enough not to take the omnibus RER, but direct ones - Goes quickly and you'll escape northern population -no comment
Go down in "Chatelet" - KEEP YOUR TICKET - then look for Metro line n°1 - Direction La Défense - Pyramides is one or two stations further - easy no ? You'l have to check your ticket when leaving the RER area (pun...) and entering the Metro one - the ticket is a one and single one - OK ? |

It's been awhile since I've been there, so I can't be sure, but I believe the metro runs until at least 23h, so you should be able to take that, or even the bus. I definitely would not advise a taxi! trop cher. |

Metro is great from the airport and easy to find |

To me, the most convenient and inexpensive way is to take the RER from the airport. At Chatelet Les Halles, you change to the Metro ligne 14 direction Gare St Lazare. When I was there last year, it cost about 16 euros round trip. |

There are no metros from CDG airport. Use RER B train. The railway station is just next to the airport, the sign boards will guide you. The ticket is not very expensive and the journey to Paris centre takes about 35 minutes. From there, you can take any metro or even another RER to your destination.
