It is very easy to take the RER from CDG to downtown Paris. From Terminal One, follow the signs to the shuttle bus that will take you there. From Terminal Two you can just walk. All the RERs (which is RER B) will take you downtown, with the express ones skipping stops in the Northern Parisian suburbs. The RER B will stop at Gare du Nord, St. Michel, Luxembourg, Cite Universitaire and maybe a couple other places. I don't think that the RER B stops at Opera. Go to www.ratp.fr and click on "plan" to see a metro map.
You can buy a Paris tourist pass (called Paris Visite... see www.ratp.fr) at the guichet in Parisian metro stops. Another good option is to ask for a Carte Orange (free). If you are going to be in Paris for about a week, this is a better deal. If you have a passport size headshot you will paste in on the card and purchase a coupon hebdomadaire (weekly) or a coupon mensuel (monthly). Write the ID number from the Carte Orange on your "coupon." Zone One is all of downtown Paris and works for most tourists, with the exception of getting to the airport. CDG will require a ticket into one of the outer zones. |

You can buy any kind cards at the guichet of any station.
The RER from CDG can take you to downtown Paris without problem.
Just hop in at terminal one or two and stop in Chatelet les Halles station,. You will be at the heart of Paris.
When you are in CDG buy a return ticket from CDG to Paris.
Then for your stay, well It depends how long u are gonna stay.
But I strongly recomend La Carte Orange (free) for a week.
You need a passport size picture.
It is cheap, you can travle all that you want.
Ask for a Zone 1 carte orange. |
