Take the train, it's a great experience! It most likely not direct as it will stop along the way, however it's good it actually does as the scenery is beautiful. It will probably take about 40 mins or so to get there.
Good luck!

train is the easiest way of doing the trip, you might want to take the train going to Ventimile in Italie, this one stops at monaco as well

The train is the best and cheapest. Keep you eyes open for the nudists on the beach that you'll see on the way. Be warned, you need to be dressed respectable, no sleeveless teeshirts, no revealing dress. You'll be escorted back to the station if you breach their dress code. You'll gasp at the opulence, the expensive shops, the casino with a reserved portion for the high rollers. and the cars and yachts.

There are regularly scheduled trains leaving throughout the day from the main train station in Cannes and going to Monaco. The trip takes about an hour and costs about 8 euros each way.
There are also regularly scheduled intercity buses.

There is also a helicopter service.
Last time I looked it cost 400 francs. That was quite a few years ago. If it's still going, it probably costs a coupla hundred yuros.
