There are several in that general price category but my personal favorite is the Hotel St. Andre des Arts. I've stayed there dozens of times over the last 30+ years. Doubles with private bath and breakfast are 89 €, inclusive of taxes. (£71 at current rates)

Another old standby is the Hotel Tiquetonne at 6 rue Tiquetonne in the 2nd arrondissment. A double with private facilities (but no breakfast) will cost 50 € (£40). |

I stayed there last summer, and it was beautiful. Next to Luxembourg Gardens, only a few minutes walk from Notre Dame. It has a private shower with toilet down the hall. I paid 55 Euros for a double room. The man who runs it is incredibly kind and let us sleep for free on an extra mattress in a laundry room for one night (there was a misunderstanding about when we would arrive and he had no empty rooms). He speaks very good English. Also, there is an elevator and free breakfast. |
