The cheaper hotel in Paris is "Formule 1", I went to one in "Porte de Clignancourt" in the North of Paris. It's around 40€ a night. There's a double bed and a single one for a kid. It's not a 5 star hotel but it's cool, nothing wrong to say.

The other hotels are raelly really expensive, it's not less than 80 or 100€/night. It's the same problem with Venice and Rome.

For Italia, try to find a "Auberge de jeunesse", it's a religious site where you can sleep. There ain't single rooms, it's usually 6 or 8 beds room, but it costs almost 20€ a night, so it's a good way to save money for the museums and souvenirs.

Paris -- my favourite hostel is Young & Happy.

But a nice hotel about 1 minute from there is the Port Royal ... it's very good for the price. I think there are two Port Royal hotels in Paris, but I'm referring to the 1-star hotel on the Left Bank.

For your best bet, buy a Lonely Planet guidebook and look for the "mid-range" accomodation options.

Ok, i don't know in Rome but i can suggest you in Paris and Venice.
Venice: Locanda la Vele
Paris: Hotel Elysee Park.
Both are in the best area, i strongly recommend you the hotel in Venice, look in internet the pictures, it's very, very nice;i was there last year .
The prices are about 100 euros per night but i think that you can find a nice price then the internet published.
Good luck!!!
