Cheap hotels in paris?

I recommend that you look for "Formule 1" hotels which are here there and everywhere in France. They are about the cheapest hotel. Very simple, all rooms exactly the same, double bed on bottom with an overhead bunk, small television and sink in room. Some have a toilet and shower in the room and some have shared toilet and shower facilities (usually 2 or 3 for each hall way). The last time we stayed at one in France, I did not know that we had gotten one of the hotels with shared toilets and showers, and was a bit aggravated about it. It turned out fine. Everything was kept very clean.
The next step up in hotels is "Etap Hotel". As far as I know all these have full bathroom in rooms, but in other ways is similar to "Formule 1". It is a bit nicer hotel. To be honest, I am a bit picky, like the hotels to be clean, but have never had a problem with either of these even though they are quite cheap. They are spartan, simple, but clean, and you can spend all that extra money on croissants. LOL Have fun!
