I'm not sure I properly interprete your question but I think you may be asking how to get coffee during the other parts of the day which is like the coffee you are served at breakfast in France.
The breakfast coffee is called "cafe au lait." The exact same thing at any other time of day is called "Café crème" and when ordering you can simply say "un crème, s'il vous plait." [crème is pronounced "khremm")
If you mean to ask whether you can get American style coffee then all you need do is ask for a "Café Americain" (kah-fay uh-meyhr-uh-kan) which is actually filtered coffee, similar to traditional American coffee.
If all of the above fails to get you coffee that you like then you can always head for a Starbucks. They are all over Paris and they serve exactly the same things they serve in the United States.
By the way, while French coffee is more heavily roasted, producing that deeper flavour, the roasting process tends to destroy caffeine. So French coffee is actually "weaker" in the sense that it does not contain as much caffeine as American coffee. |

You can order an "allongé". It is a bigger coffee, less strong. |

Don't order a "cafe petite" or you'll get one of those tiny cups of strong coffee. Cafe au lait is huge but be aware that half (or more than half) of the huge bowl is milk, not coffee. |

All you have to say is:
Bonjour, peux-j'avoir une tasse moyenne de café, comme un allongé, pas stong MEME s'il vous plaît ? Merci.
An ''allongé" is a cup of coffee, medium to large cup, not very strong, with added water.
Have a good time in France. |
