Hey there! Maybe a better question is, why are you thinking of moving to France? It does have alot to offer, just like many other countries. I used to live in the South, in Aix-en-Provence, and I truly loved it. At first it was a bit of a culture shock, coming from America, but it was a great experience. I loved the French language and learning it, the multi-culturalism, the crepes (!), the aperatifs and the general way of laid-back life. There were some things I wasn't so keen on, but... for some people, all of the pros outweigh the cons.

But you know there's only one way to find out.. just go!

Best of luck-
Leighla

The romantic language, architecture and history, slower-paced day, long vacations, warmer weather with less humidity (compared if you live in the the U.S. North) and the food and wine. The best meal of my life was in Lyons, France.

Don't be fooled however, the unemployment rate was around 25% for young adults (some with college education) in 2008. Once a person has a job in France it is hard to fire them, even if they aren't working out.

You will never get a good hamburger and that is enough to make any north america mad.

they all speak English, since the English ex-pat,holliday home buyers took over, and introduced public drunkeness to rural France, without paying the right tax
