Cost of living in Paris?

I am trying to find out what the cost of living is in Paris and surrounding areas - places like Puteaux and Velizy? It would be good to get an idea of average rental costs for a 2 bed apt, utility bills and groceries. Any insight gratefully received!

I live in the 12th arrondissement in Paris, which is primarily a residential district, in a two bedroom apartment which i share with another student. The rent between us is 1000 euros per month, plus utilities which is about 300 euros, so we typically pay about 650 each. I have been living here for the past year and although this is my first and only accommodation in Paris, I am told that it is a great deal for this flat, we each have our own room, plus a large common space, kitchen with washer, and sufficient storage space. I am a student on a budget, so I do not prepare gourmet meals every evening, but I can typically get by on groceries for meals amounting to 30 or 40 euros per week, shopping at local markets. It is much more economical to prepare meals at home than to eat out, as an average menu in a resto can cost about 15-25 euros. It is an expensive city, but well worth it.

well, i guess accommodation is quite expensive.

but the transport is cheap and fantastic :)

and they have the most amazing markets where you can get fresh groceries (meat, fruit, vegetables etc) for a cheap price.

Monthly rent for a 2 bed flat in Paris or around is between 900-1200 euros. For utility bills, well, probably around 150 euros a month, groceries for a month-100 euros?

Some idea of prices in Paris

The metro is one of the least expensive in the world. A book of 10 tickets will cost you approximately €10.

Here are some average prices for everyday consumer products:

1 full-price museum admission: €7 to €9.
1 sandwich: around €5.
1 pizza: between €8 and €10
1 small coffee: €1 at the bar, €2 sitting down
1 full meal (starter, main dish, dessert, not including drinks): between €15 and €20 depending on the area.
1 baguette of bread: €0.80
1 beer in a café: €2 to €4
1 seat at the cinema: €9

You'd have to find out the exchange rate between your currency and their's. But it would generally be the same as where you are now give or take a couple of hundred dollars.

Paris is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Living there can be so expensive but, It'll all be worth it! :D

Paris is very expensive, but Puteaux and Velizy are slightly cheaper.
A 2 bed apartment in Paris would cost around 75-100k Euros
In the other two areas from about 40000-75000 Euros
