that's really easy my ex wife is from france i was stationed there for 6 years. you need to simply get out of the tourist sections. off the main roads into the villages. the food is cheaper and way better. most locals will send you to the tourist spots. because you're there. get off the beaten path. and really taste france

La Methode at 2 rue Descartes in 5th arrondissement is my favorite little place. Very friendly, an excellant traditional menu, interesting daily specials. Very modestly priced.

Le Comptoir du Panthéon at 5 rue Soufflot (5th) is only a few steps from the Pantheom but filled with local people. Classic, simple food, at not outrageous prices (Entrecôte grillée 14€).

La Maison de la Lozère at 4 rue Hautefeuille (6th) does the food of the Lozère region including the best aligot (a dish of mashed potatoes with cantal cheese) in Paris.

The Restaurant Le Coupe Chou at 9 rue de Lanneau (5th) is a wonderfully romantic place. http://www.lecoupechou.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=17d8ae5ee71ea0e209cf3313d06d8e58

There is this place called The Copper Kettle right across from The Disney Store on Avenue des Champs- Élysées (not a touristy restaurant, I promise. My friend from France took me.)

It is a little spendy but TOTALLY worth it!
