WISE OWL
Not only will you and your grand-daughter need an individual passport each, but, unless you are her legal guardian and have written proof of this, you are required by law to have a letter signed by her parents or legal guardian allowing you to take her out of the UK. The letter has to have their name, address and contact telephone number on it. This has become a requirement to prevent people from abducting young children and spiriting them off to another country.

Hold my paw please
Yes, I can't believe the amount of people who think they can travel without passports, what is the big hassle is having a passport? You fill out the form from the post office and post it off

munchkin
yes you will it will only be 5 year passport if she's young but it doesn't cost as much as an adult passport

Yes you do.

Both you and your granddaughter need a passport.

You will not get on the ferry or Eurostar without it.

Yes you do. If you wish to leave the UK, you'll need a passport, as will your granddaughter.

If you're both UK citizens I think it would be whatever the usual thing is in EU nations. If one or both of you is a citizen elsewhere, it would be whatever France requires. Why not ask a travel agent or do a bit of searching on the internet?
