Yes - you will need a passport. Different country - therefore immigration. You should also get an e111 for medical insurance, which now is on a credit card format rather than a paper form which you used to get. |

As I understand the system, you do need your passport to travel to France from England, however , if you have a valid photo ID such as your drivers licence it will be accepted as proof of who you are so you do not have to carry your passport around on a daily basis whilst in Paris. It can stay safely locked away with your other valuables in your hotel/accommodation.
You also need proof of where you are staying whilst in France in case you're stopped for any reason.
THE DRIVING LICENCE NEEDS TO BE A NEW EU DRIVING LICENCE - NOT JUST A PHOTO LICENCE |

You don't need a passport if you have a European passport but you DO need one if you are staying overnight in a hotel as they ask for it when you register - you cannot travel on a driving licence and it would be best to take your passport anyway as a means of identification when you are questioned or arrested, etc. etc. |

If you are resident of an EU country you can travel with an ID card instead of your passport. However, if you are British you will need your passport as we don't have offical ID cards like they do in France.
You can use your driving licence, if it has a photocard, for internal flights within the UK. |

You need your passport every time you leave the borders of the UK. A photo card driving licence is enough if you are flying within the country. To go to Paris you need your passport |

Of course you need a passport to leave England. The only places you can travel to without a passport are:- England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scilly Isles and the Channel Isles. |

Do`nt try it, lass. Take your current passport. A member of the European Community can travel accross each member states border without one. A recognised ID card is all that is required. However, when we/they attempt to enter or exit the UK it is a different story.
Unless you are an illegal immigrant smuggled into the country then you are ok. |

To travel within the EU (except for UK or Ireland if a UK citizen) you need an ID card issued by your national government, as we do not have ID cards in UK you will need a Passport for Paris France. For Paris USA it's an all new ball game. |

Yes, you do need a passport to enter both countries. If you are from the states you won't need a visa unless you are staying for a long time. |

I'm nost sure about Paris, but I'm going to Mexico (another country) and they only require a birth certificate and picture ID. This will change on 1/1/07 and everyone will need a passport to travel outside of the country (cost about $100) |
