Please, do not expect any miracle from the SNCF. It is probably the worst service among the so-called advanced countries. I lived nearby and I often went out to club in Cannes, Nice or Frejus. It was always nightmare to go back home!

No, trains do not run at night in France.... other than the overnight trains. But your itineraries are not overnight!
Not only that, but the stations are actually closed at night too.
